 AENOR Mark for Certified Products or Services

This is a mark that shows compliance with standards. It means that the products and services which obtain them are subject to evaluations and checks established in the certification systems and that AENOR considers that they comply with applicable standards.

The AENOR product and service certification process

Any company may request certification for their products or services. AENOR provides the documentation required to apply for certification.

Application for Certification
After ensuring that the products or services comply with certification process requirements, the applicant requests certification from AENOR by sending the necessary documentation. This is the point at which the certification process begins.

Certification
For a product or service to be certified, it has to pass a number of evaluations, including:
  • checking the quality system applied to the manufacture of the product or in providing the service;
  • taking samples and testing the product, or
  • inspecting the service.

The inspections and tests examine the product or service characteristics and check that they comply with the standard requirements.

Award
The final result is the concession of the certificate, which states that the product or service complies with the standard and thereby grants the right to use the corresponding mark, which, from this moment on, may be used on the certified products and services.

Monitoring
This process ensures that the certified products or services continue to comply with standards and deserve to use the mark.

It also involves checking the quality system, inspections, and tests on samples obtained from the factory and the market. The data obtained is used to decide whether the certificate should be kept.

Granting an AENOR product or service certificate is normally managed through Technical Certification Committees, in which manufacturers, service companies, consumers, users, and government are all represented, thereby guaranteeing impartiality and transparency in the certification process.
