AENOR OPENS UP HEADQUARTERS IN MOROCCO AND DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
AENOR has set in motion an office in Morocco and another one in Dominican Republic, from which it plans to strengthen its previous presence in both markets. This way, the growing internationalisation of the Entity is maintained, adapted to the current environment, and which has led to AENOR being permanently present so far in Mexico, El Salvador, Panama, Peru, Brazil, Chile, Portugal, Italy, Poland and Bulgaria.
The said presence is articulated through eight companies and in 2009 they involved over 3,000 certificates in force. Regarding training, almost 3,500 professionals attended the courses organised in these countries.
The two new offices that have joined the AENOR INTERNACIONAL network enhance its position in countries with a great potential in the certification market. In Morocco, AENOR already had certificates in force that had been awarded to Spanish companies based in the Maghreb country. The plans implemented by the Moroccan Government for the modernisation of diverse sectors and infrastructures will foster the certification activity, especially in the product and food safety fields. As a result, good development of the training activity in all aspects relating to quality is expected. AENOR headquarters are located in Tanger, one of the major Moroccan industrial hubs.
In the Dominican Republic, AENOR has already 34 certificates in force obtained by Dominican organisations belonging to different sectors such as food, health-care or industry. The headquarters located in Santo Domingo mainly focus on the growing Dominican industrial export sector, with markets in the Caribbean and Central America. In this case, the main demand is expected to come from the management system certifications, especially in the quality field in conformity with ISO 9001.
